Jefferson Awards

Thursday night was the Jefferson Awards which honors people in our community who volunteer their time for different causes...I nominated my wonderful sister this year because of her continuous efforts to reduce the euthansia rate of animals in Wichita Falls...They have now spay/neutered 11,000 animals!!! since opening in July 2007....It is amazing to see all PETS does for our community....

There were 17 nominations....4 different categories...They each got a very nice certificate which she will be hanging at PETS for everyone to see....

And then there is one finalist from each category...She WON in her category...One of the 4 finalists:)...I was so excited for her and the recognition PETS received....She got a medal and money to go towards the clinic which is always helpful since they fully rely on donations, grants and fundraisers.....

Sisters---she is not that much taller than me--haha...She must have had some tall heels on!!

In the end she did not win the entire thing to represent Wichita Falls in Washington D.C., but she was super happy with the result....Congrats Leslie...All your hard work continues to pay off;)
