Wildcat Hockey

Friday was Teacher Appreciation night at the Hockey Game....We've only been once and Kohen really had a great time...So I thought we would take the kids back...We had great seats (thanks to Kyle)...Only about 4 rows up from the rink.... Kresee clapped and danced the whole time:)
After a little bit, we moved on down to the very front row and the kids thought it was great...Stomping on the metal floor and banging on the glass...And the best was when the hockey players smashed into it right in front of you!

Mornings

The kids both love morning time especially if mommy or daddy still happens to be in bed...They climb on in and snuggle up...So I took a sweet picture of them hanging out with Daddy...Don't you love Kresee's hair...When I take her pigtails out at night, the next morning her hair still sticks out straight to the side:)

Sunday Update

Weekly Total: 18.5 miles
Monthly Total: 58 miles

So since I'm not running today or tomorrow, then I at least hit my monthly goal of 57 miles....The half marathon is now just 2 months away and I continue to get more and more nervous....This week was rough...I was sick all week and I'm still not 100%....Yesterday's long run was not fun and I only managed to go 7 miles...The other 3 girls made it 9!!!...Even healthy, I don't think I could have made 9 miles...But my chest was on fire and so I was happy to complete 7 miles...I bought some new shoes and have yet to really determine if I like them or not...I know sometimes it takes getting used to...And then I don't know if its because I'm running more and longer distances...But I also have some weird foot pain going on...I hurt it on Thursday...I ran 3 miles on the treadmill and wasn't 30 minutes into my Zumba class when it appeared...I didn't do anything specific, but it just started aching...So I stopped and luckily it didn't hurt running yesterday...I think I might have just strained or pulled a tendon on the outside of my right foot...Going to take a few days off to get over this cold AND let my foot rest....

Friends and Piggies

Kresee's hair has just become a huge mess....So about 2 weeks ago, I realized she had just enough on each side to make some little pig tails...Now, if she would just leave them in...But they are cute while they last...I've put them in (or Mimi has) everyday trying to get her used to having her hair up....Looks sooooo much better!!
Sage and Kresee have really become great friends...She continues to amaze me the older she gets (Sage that is) how much more she puts up with....Who would have ever thought she would let a rowdy little girl climb all over her and not mind at all..Kresee loves to hug her and tell her "I love you Sage"...She gives her plenty of kisses too:)

View from the Top

Since I wasn't in any skiing pictures, I had to buy a few from the photographers at the top of the mountain in Red River....

Sunday Update

Going to try and put a weekly update on my total miles for the past week and monthly total:)

This past week--18.5 miles
Monthly total--39.5 miles

My big runs are on Saturdays since I've started running with my friend Angela on the weekends....This past Saturday, I headed up her way to Henrietta to not only run with her but also Shea and Randi...We had a great time...And I was excited to complete 7 miles (eventhough I was only scheduled to run 6)...That is the longest I've ever run...The most was that 10K (6.2 miles) back in December...So it will be fun every time I run on the weekend, I will continue to have my longest distance everytime....This weekend I know we are going to do 7.5 or 8 miles!

It still makes me a complete nervous wreck thinking about that 13.1 miles though...I don't know why...I don't have the mentality...I need to get my mind right (haha)....Kerry says I have zero confidence in myself...And yes, that's always been pretty much true of me...But I do continue to surprise myself more and more...So I do know I don't give myself enough credit sometimes....

Red River Ski Trip

Last year was our first time to take Kohen skiing...He was 3 1/2 years old and did such a great job...I have to admit that he is a pretty coordinated little guy...So Kerry and I thought we would take him again since he had so much fun...We were on our own with him (last year we were with my dad and some family), but I'm so glad we went...
We stayed at the Best Western Rivers Edge...This is the lift to get on the slopes right outside our room...It couldn't have been any closer or easier to walk to and from the room during the day....
We ate lunch on Saturday at Shotgun Willie's...Everything is within walking distance and we wanted something quick and easy for lunch....And as soon as you walked in, you were greeted by this sign...I made Kerry take a picture with my phone:)
We had to send a few texts of us to Kresee back in Wichita Falls...She stayed with Grammie and did great....
Kohen on the ski lift....I didn't take many phone pics skiing...I took lots of video though....
It was so sunny and pretty that I couldn't see what I was taking a picture of so I cut off Kohen's face.....
This was on the first day....We drove down Thursday (all day long---9 hrs) and got there that afternoon....Unpacked and ate dinner and rented our ski stuff.....Got up the next morning and this was Kohen on the bunny slope about to practice a few times before we went to the bigger practice slope....
I need to scan the pictures that the camera lady took of us at the top of the mountain...Again, I didn't bring my camera...Friday afternoon after a full day of skiing we bought Kohen a tubing ticket...So I went and got my camera before the lifts closed so I could get a few pics of the boys....Here they are waiting in line to get on the lift....And Kohen did great all morning long, but at lunch we decided to make a purchase...Best $45 I've ever spent....This really allowed Kohen to learn how to make turns and go side to side down the mountains...But Kerry had control should he gain too much speed...It was great...I know we will use it again next year and also with Kresee someday....
Getting off the lift....Last year we dropped him once--not something I like to remember...Of course, we've not really talked about it in a year...The first day the very first time we got on the main lift Kohen, of course, who never forgets a thing "Remember when I fell off this"...Good thing he wasn't traumatized by it!!

Friday at 4:00 when the lifts close we let him do the 4:15 tubing session...One of his favorite things to do---I admit, it is pretty darn fun.....
Last year you had to walk your tube back up...But this year they put in a thing for you to stand on and it carried you back up the bunny slope...That was great....

Kohen, even at 4 1/2 years old, you always continue to amaze me...How determined you are, how much confidence you have, how you really don't fear anything...So proud of how well you did...How much progress you made from last year to this year....Heck, I think next year we might be able to let you loose a little more....Daddy and I had such a great time with you...9 hours in the car is easy breezy for you (thank goodness)...So glad we went and I hope we continue a ski trip every year with you!

Half Marathon

So I haven't posted about our latest goal for 2011....Running a half-marathon....Kerry and I are signed up for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in Dallas on March 27th....We have 2 1/2 more months to get ready for it...Hopefully we can train injury free:)...I was in dire need of some new shoes as was he...So we went to Academy about a week ago and both got some new Asics...We wished we had the time to run to a Luke's Locker or some place like that to really get a good idea of what type of shoe we should be running in...I'm really going to try and only use mine for running and keep using my Nike Lunarfly just for Zumba and other exercising....

I even talked my sweet friend Angela into running it with me...I think her husband is now on board as well...So we plan on making the trip together and I know we won't be running with the boys but I'm glad to have a partner to run beside me for 13.1 miles!!!

Another friend of mine, who I know through work, has posted a challenge on Facebook to do some form of walking/running 1100 km in 2011...Which is 683 miles:)...I thought I could attempt this but would need to do around 57 miles each month....I think I'm around 30 miles so far for the month of January (minus all my miles of skiing this past weekend--since I can count that too!)

So I plan on keeping you posted on my running and getting ready for the half marathon....

Barney's Birthday Bash

I haven't had a chance to post our Barney pics from Jan 6th....It ended up just being Kohen and I with some other friends...Kresee decided she would have a 24 hr little virus that kept her from going to see Barney:(
We met up with Ashley, Ronnie, Jude and Erza at Fuzzy's Tacos for pre-party for Ezra's 2nd birthday...Crystal and Savannah were there along with Beth and Jolie....
Then we headed over to the show to see Barney before it started...Kohen was kind of excited about meeting them eventhough we never watch Barney....

Birthday girl with her mommy and brother....
Jude asked if he could hug Barney's tail and he let him:)
We had great front row seats....
Super close to the stage....
There was a guy filming the audience and then would put faces up on the big screen...Can you see Kohen up there?...I thought it was hilarious....
See that line of tape...The kids couldn't go past it, but they had a lot of dancing room....
I loved how they came off the stage to dance too....
And Kohen made it up on the big screen again.....
I think the parents all decided we have no idea what went on in the show because we had the best time watching the kids dance their little hearts out....
And I had to post this one...See that guy behind Kohen...Well Ronnie and Jeremy couldn't get over him...He was the biggest goofball and LOVED his job way too much....
Trying to take one picture of Kohen and I...He really wasn't going for it though....
Kohen was the king of breakdancing that night....He really had the best time....
So I felt sorry that Kresee missed it because I know she would have loved every second of it...But I can tell you that eventhough I was really, really not looking forward to going since she was home sick, it was one of the funnest nights I've had in awhile")
