3rd Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon

Today I ran the Rock N Roll Dallas 1/2 marathon for the 3rd year in a row....It was my first one of the year...One I really didn't train much for but figured I would give it a go and my goal be to just finish...I've never walked before but I had a plan in my head before the race and I made sure that I stuck with it so I wouldn't die....Run 4, walk some, run to mile 7.5, walk some, run to mile 11, walk break and then finish the last 1.5 or so till the finish line...It worked well for me this time...I could definitely tell my legs weren't in half marathon shape...I'm not sure they have ever felt so tired...Luckily, mentally I was fine....I did get a terrible calf cramp starting at mile 2 and lasted the entire race...Never ever had a calf cramp before but I managed and I'm sure it will be craaaaazy sore tomorrow...2:28 was my time which I'm pretty proud of with my 3 walking breaks!
So all this beautiful weather and was going to be super cold and crazy windy...As you can tell we were freezing before the run....Thank goodness there was a hotel near the start and so many runners crammed into the lobby to stay warm...Without that, I would have been miserable!!...We didn't even get to show off our cute shirts we make every year because we needed some layers on!....
But I'm glad to say this was my 6th half marathon since I started running about 3 1/2 years ago...I hope to run maybe one or two more this year...

Soccer Friends

Tonight we played the Bad Manners...We have a few boys on the team that we are friends with...So it's always an exciting game...One that usually doesn't end up in our favor but man I was very proud of their effort tonight...We were down 1-0 for the game and they scored a goal towards the very end...So we fought hard and I think they played great...Here is Kohen and Reid after the game...Good friends;)...And then we went to eat with him and his family...yummy!!

Noah, Sam and Kohen being silly afterwards as well...

My 33rd

Well I celebrated my 33rd birthday yesterday....We actually went to dinner on Friday night with mom, Leslie and Paul at On the Border...Mom got me a yummy cookie cake...The kids took me to Old Navy afterwards and Kohen picked out a ring for me and Kresee got me some pretty earrings...Then Kerry took me to Victoria's Secrets for 2 much needed new bras!
Yesterday morning was spent at baseball practice with Kohen...This has been our usual Saturday morning the past few weeks...

Followed by our normal 4:00 pm soccer game...We played a really tough team and was down 2-0 before I even knew it...Still 2-0 at half and I was really happy with that...In fact, I was going to be completely happy with a 2-0 loss..But our boys didn't quit and ended up tieing the game 2-2!!...best birthday present:)...And everyone sang me Happy Birthday after the game which was embarrasing..I hate stuff like that--haha...
Then last night I had 10 special couples join us for dinner at the Pelican...We had an amazing time and I can't thank them enough for the great company...And these delicious cupcakes were out of this world...Now I have 4 in my fridge that I'm sure will be gone before today is over...

Ft. Worth Zoo

On Wednesday, we headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo with about 20,000 other people...I'm not joking...Spring Break+Half Price Wednesday=Zoo craziness...We got there at 9:40 and the zoo opened at 10...We were able to walk right up and get our tickets and they were letting people in...It honestly wasn't too bad in the morning...But by lunchtime, it was just too crowded...We stayed for a few more hours and then hopped in the car and headed home...Stopped in Decatur for some yummy pizza and were back in WF by a decent hour...I don't think I've felt so tired driving home though and I couldn't wait for bed!!

4 yr Check-Up

Kresee had her 4 year check-up with Dr. Yap today...She was so excited and did so well answering his questions and doing everything he asked...Kerry had to comment about what a horrible patient she was as a little baby--I honestly had forgotten (haha)...She didn't have to get any shots today and we will get those next year at her 5 year appt before we register her for Kindergarten...She had a vision and hearing screening completed that is a requirement for preschool and she did great
She ate a really, really big lunch in hopes to get a few more ounces in her before we went...We were shooting for 30 lbs....
Weight: 30 lbs exactly (10th%)
Height: 38 1/2 inches (22nd%)

I looked back and Kohen was 31.8 lbs and 40" at 4 yrs old...So she's not too far behind him:)

Aquarium and Legoland

We spent the night after Medieval times and got up the next morning to head to Grapevine Mills Mall...We wanted to get to the aquarium there right when they opened...The kids had a lot of fun and
we stayed there all morning until lunch time....

We ate some yummy Sbarro's pizza before getting in line to go into Legoland...Luckily, the wait was only about 30 minutes....

Kohen could have stayed there all day building little lego cars and racing them over and over...He thought it was the greatest thing ever....But we wanted to let them do these big water balls in the mall before we ate dinner...Kohen loved it...Kresee did OK but seemed a little scared but managed to make it the whole 5 minutes:)

Rain Forest Cafe was our dinner stop....I was super exhausted and so some good dinner and then off to the hotel and bed sounded perfect to me....

Medieval Times

Since this week is Spring Break, Grammie and I took the kids to Dallas for a few days...We left on Monday afternoon so we could make our first stop at Medieval Times late afternoon....I've never ever been and I thought Kohen would really enjoy it...They both ended up having a great time...Kohen loved all the knights...Kresee's day was made when our knight threw her a flower...He had come over 2 times to throw some flowers but she's so little he never saw her...So the 3rd and final time, I stood her up on my knees and she waved her arms...She didn't care about anything else the rest of the show except for her flower...It was pretty cute:)
