Sugar--1 year later

One year ago today, we picked up this poor little puppy with a horrible embedded collar neck wound from the Humane Society. They called and asked if we would foster her. We said sure thing. I went out there that next day so she could meet me and get to know her a little bit, then I picked her up on Friday and we bathed her and headed straight to the lake. Her and Ellie became fast friends and we knew we couldn't give her up. So she came into our lives one year ago and although it's been a rough year with a puppy we love her anyways and can't imagine life without her. She really has matured now that she is 18 months olds and is a really great dog. She loves to go on runs, she loves playing and is even super sweet to Red. She just loves to play:)

Little Thief

  1. So I was scooping out some almonds at Market Street and Kresee says "these are my favorite". She obviously helped herself to about 5 chocolate chip morsels out of one of the bins. I could hardly get on to her with chocolate all in her teeth and she was so happy about it;)

Soccer girls

I seriously think little girls in their soccer outfits are the cutest thing ever!
Jaylee and Kresee showed up with matching outfits so I had to get a picture of them along with Audrie Kate. They are really loving soccer and can't wait for their 1st game in a week.

2nd tooth

After his great 1st day at school today, Kohen came home and said "well my tooth is really bleeding a whole lot"....I looked at it and told him it probably had another day if he really keeps working on it...He walked out of the room and immediately turned around and said I pulled it...It bled a lot and was not ready to come out--haha....Tooth Fairy will be here for the 2nd time in 5 days...But I don't think there are any other loose teeth right now:)

1ST Day of School (2nd and 4K)

I can't believe it's already the 1st day of school. As always summer flew by quickly especially since we stay so busy. Kresee was very ready and has been asking for a good 6 weeks now when school starts. She has patiently been waiting the past 2 years to be in Mrs. Erica's class (who Kohen had for 4K) and was super excited to start. Kohen, on the other hand, was not too excited about 2nd grade. He is such a boy and school is not his most favorite thing even though he does wonderful at school.

I'm thinking this might be my last year to get a picture of him at his desk. I'm not sure though. He seems to not mind too much but next year he will probably tell me no pictures--haha.

Evening Walk

The kids were playing football today in their Sooner gear...They are very ready for football season like Kerry and I are!
Tonight we wanted to take the dogs for a walk...So Red rode in the kids old Elmo stroller...Kresee was in her tinkerbell costume...Kohen was on his bike shirtless with his bow/arrow...And Kerry pushed Red so I had all 3 girls...We left poor old man Hunter at home:)...We were definitely a sight to see!

HHH

Kohen got up at the crack of dawn to work his 1st ever Hotter'N Hell Hundred with Grammie at rest stop #1 with Healthsouth. It worked out for him to go this year and he was excited to help cut up fruit and make the drinks. Kresee wasn't too happy she didn't get to go so when Grammie brought Kohen back she took Kresee with her so they could watch Mike finish the 100 miles. He always amazes me and we continue to be so proud of all his accomplishments post-cancer treatments:)

Meet the Teacher

Both kids had meet the teacher tonight. Franklin was so crazy crowded and poor Mrs. Montemayor had parents all over that I felt bad making her stop and take a picture. But I did get one with Kresee and Mrs. Erica, her 4K teacher for this year. Kresee was so ready to get there and I know she didn't want to leave. She can't wait for school to start on Monday!

Lost his 1st tooth!!

It only took 7 years 4 months and 1 day for him to finally lose his 1st tooth. We can say he actually lost it before he started 2nd grade; just barely though..It was just hanging on and I tried to get him to pull it before football practice but he wouldn't do it. He was standing in line for hitting drills and that helped it out. I saw him run over to Kerry to hand him something and I knew it had fall out. He was sooooo excited. Precious boy!

Swimmer's Ear

I guess all that swimming at the lake this weekend turned into a nasty swimmer's ear infection for this guy...Neither kid has ever had swimmer's ear so it was a first for him....He did go participate in football without wearing his helmet since it hurts to touch his ear....And then I let him just hang out at soccer and play goalie some since it hurt to run...He's smiling because we were just looking at his two bottom teeth and they are both pretty loose...I think he might lose one very soon!!

Lake Fun

We headed to the lake this weekend. We have been letting Kohen practice some with the football team and he wants to give it a shot. I don't think he will enjoy it once he remembers what it is all about but we said fine, give it a try. So Kerry brought his pads down to the lake to practice some:)
We had a great time riding over to Sandy Beach and hanging out there all day.
The kids enjoyed covering Daddy completely up and I know he didn't mind!

1st Baseball and soccer practices

Yesterday was Kohen's first baseball practice for the fall season. He is playing for a new team--Giants. His Ranger team had never played Fall ball so we decided to get on a new team knowing he really wanted to keep playing baseball. This helped with the decision of not playing football. He really, really loves football but I know he hates getting tackled. So we offered him baseball instead! We are very excited and hope he has a great season.
Tonight we began soccer practices as well. Kresee's 1st ever soccer practice (still has a lovely black eye) and she was sooooo excited and of course so cute. I'm excited to get going with the boys as well since we have 6 brand new players; 5 have never ever played soccer before. So it will be a rebuilding season for us!

Black Eye

On Monday night, Kerry was mowing the yard. The kids love to ride on the mower with him. They were all done and riding around in the cul-de-sac getting the grass off of it when Kresee decided to stand up and take a nose dive straight into the street. Poor thing scraped her head all up as you can see. Scared her to death that she even peed all over herself:(
The next morning her forehead was still pretty scrapped but her eye was a little bit swollen and puffy. I guess it traveled down...

Then day 3 and 4 were awful with a full blown black eye. I felt terrible for her. She keeps looking in the mirror and saying "yep, its still there".

Kohen has never had a black eye so this is a first for us!

Basketball games

Kohen had a great time playing summer league basketball. His YMCA coach also coached this team and he does such an amazing job with these kids. Kohen learned so stinking much and will be better prepared for the basketball season come winter when you they actually call double dribbling. They shot on 10' goals all summer so it sure helped get his strength up and will help when they drop back down to 9' goals. This team is going to stick together and do some tournaments in the winter too and keep playing summers together. It was a great group of boys. We assumed they being so young they would be 0-6 but we actually went 2-4 winning a couple of games!!

Bday Party

Today the kids and I headed out of town with Grammie for a fun birthday party. My sweet friend just had a new baby girl and it was his son's bday party. We had been wanting to go and meet the baby so it was a perfect time to see all of his family. The kids had a blast and it was a wonderful day!
It was a pirate party and they loved it:)

 Birthday boy!
 Sweet baby girl Elizabeth
Jared and I have been friends for soooo long; since we were 5 years old. So I love getting to see him when we can and it's fun to hang out with each other's kids:). Kresee spent the entire day playing with Jared's dad; one of my favorite things to do as a little girl. Jimmy was such a fun dad and is obviously makes a wonderful grandpa too!
