Weekend at the Lake

The kids patiently waiting in the 200 degree garage while all the adults get the boat ready to go....It's always a bit of an ordeal but they don't mind running around and hanging out....
We get to the boat ramp and unload the pontoon...Go to start it and realized no one grabbed the key...So we had to park the boat and let Papa drive back to the house to get the key....All the kids wanted to be dipped in the water...Here they are watching baby Lexie have her turn...Kerry loved it because he would squat down and get some good bicep curls going:)....

Kohen just watched...He wasn't ready to be in the water yet....

So we get going and then realize the crazy wind is not going to be good for our shade cover...We stop to try and adjust the straps so that we can make it to Sandy Beach....Papa stands up and somehow hits the boat key and basically bends it completely sideways...After carefully attempting to turn the key, he does get the boat started without it breaking off in the key hole...So we turn right back around to park for the 2nd time....

This time the kids decided they would just rather get in and play while Maw goes and gets the spare set of boat keys....Papa did get the key out and then it broke....

So we FINALLY made it over to Sandy Beach...It was CRAZY windy as usual....

Kresee loves hanging out in the sand...We literally can stay for hours and the kids never get tired of it...We are the ones who have to finally say we want to go back:)

Kohen and Jaxson had their own little adventure going on...They would run in the water and reinact something and head back to their sand piles...Destroy some things and then head back into the water...Who really knows:)

Kresee getting covered with the sand...And a random cattail floated up and I stuck it in her pile...She thought it was great...

Kerry never even got off the boat at Sandy Beach...Just hung out in the 100 mph wind while relaxing out of the water....

Hanging out with Daddy-O...That's what she calls Kerry....I started it and it has stuck...It's pretty hilarious listening to her say DADDY-OOOO!!!...And Kohen has started saying it too:)

Kresee snacking on Goldfish (or really she was picking out all the Dorito crumbs since we hardly ever give her chips)...

When we got back we let the girls get naked and rinse all the sand off in the baby pool...They played for awhile...Then Lexie and Kenzie got out and Kresee hung out for a good while longer..
And we will be back in just a few short days to spend a long weekend at the lake for the 4th!!

Party Time

Last night, Ashley had a Pampered Chef party....I can say that I've never went to one nor do I own one pampered chef item....I had full intention of not buying anything, but just went online to order that stoneware cookie sheet....I love a good cookie sheet and so does Kerry...We like are cookies just a little bit cooked with absolutely no brown on the bottom!!...Pretty much ooey gooey:)...I had a great time visiting with my friends and all the new girls I met...I went home at 9:30 while this group headed out...I had a headache and was pretty tired...Good thing because Kresee for some weird reason was up at 6:00!!!...Way too early for me...Then Kohen decided he didn't feel good and threw up once....But has been a crazy man ever since...Who knows?!?!.

Crystal P., Ashley, Me, Lori, Leslie and Crystal H.!!!

Climbing the Mountain

The week before last we headed out to my Nana and Papa's house to celebrate my Nana's birthday....My mom and aunt got her all new stuff for her front yard so we headed outside to water the ground and get everything set up...The kids had the best time "watering" their entire yard...Kresee even made sure the trees got some good watering as well...Kerry went to the canyon area with my cousin and her hubby to shoot his new gun (he is a policeman and got a new one)...I don't know if Kerry has ever shot a gun (he will probably correct me once he reads this, but I'm thinking it hasn't been many times if any)....But Kohen wanted to head down there and we wouldn't let him....
So he opted to climb on the huge gravel piles that are out there...He had the BEST time.....

Kresee saw Kohen and needed in on the action...She kept saying "I climb that mountain"...So that meant mommy help me get all the way to the top...Good thing I really don't care if my clothes and shoes get dirty because the gravel just covers you in that white dust.... So I carried/pushed her all the way to the top...She was so proud!!!
I have to admit it was pretty fun so we took a picture together at the top....

Some of my most favorite childhood memories are the hours my sisters, cousins and I spent at my grandparents doing this same thing....You could stay all day and never get bored climbing the gravel or sand piles...We had specific "play clothes" we had to wear because that sand would stain our panties, socks and clothes and would not wash out....So it was really fun being out there with my own kiddos while they soaked it all in as well...I really should let them go climb out there more often...Kohen is just at that perfect age to really enjoy it....

Shaving Cream and Water Day

Today I had both kids all day to myself....I usually send them both to their usual places so I can run to the gym...Today we slept in and went to the $1 movies...We haven't went to one of those yet this summer...It was "How to Train A Dragon"....Kohen had already seen it but it was a first for Kresee and I...And they love to meet up with Jude and Ezra!!...So we had a lot of fun...
We went and picked Daddy up for a yummy lunch at Margies...And then headed back home for a day outside in the fun sun!! We got out the plastic pool and sidewalk chalk and slide so they could slide into the pool....
I went to a workshop last summer...The Ooey Gooey Lady and LOVED hearing all the fun suggestions she had for kiddos...But I went again yesterday and knew I still had most of this stuff and needed to pull it out for something different with the kids....
We started with Ooblick--cornstarch and water...Kohen liked it...Kresee really didn't care....

She just couldn't wait till I got out the paints for her...She knows all her colors and loves telling you them over and over again....Kohen joined in for a little bit...But she was hooked and could have painted all day:)

As soon as I pulled out the cans of shaving cream, he was over painting!!!..Mix some glue in there to make it a little more interesting.....

Kohen covered his entire body---he thought it was great...."It's like I'm covered in some good sunscreen Mommy!!!"

I was honestly surprised at how long it took Kresee to dig into the Shaving Cream/Glue mixture....She was way too busy painting and didn't really care for a good 15 minutes...But then she decided she would play!!

They covered each other too.....

Cheese!!!!
We made another pan with baby oil and flour mixed together...They both enjoyed playing in it and it makes your hands all soft;)

He "painted" the house and fence with water and a squeegie....

She would go and add more shaving cream to her body and then return to her painting...

She then decided to paint the baseball she found in the plastic pool....She wanted to paint everything....
They had a blast...I really should let them do this more often...And it wasn't hard to clean up since we did everything in the driveway...Good thing Kerry wasn't home to see the big mess:)

Floating

Last week we spent the afternoon at some friends house because they have an awesome pool with some great shade:)...Kohen loves their hot tub as you can see in the background...I don't think he left it the entire time...But Grayson, Kendyl and Kresee wanted to float around in the big raft....It didn't last too long unfortunately...Ashley and I never even got in the water...It was a great lazy day!!!

Dog Washers

My least favorite thing to do is wash the dogs...In fact, I don't...I just can't..It kills me!!!...Especially this dog--Hunter...His hair and everything make my allergies go crazy...So it's Kerry's job to wash the dogs at the lake but this time he actually had a helper:)
I have no idea what Kohen was doing behind them---besides not helping!
