Limo Ride

Like last year, Kohen got to go on the limo ride for selling all his Spaghetti Dinner raffle tickets...The kids love getting to go eat at Mazzio's for lunch and act like a bunch of crazy kids in the limo...And for the 2nd year, I also got lucky enough to be the teacher to ride in the limo with them..Yay!...Haha...I had my own car ready to go and was going to follow but got asked to ride...At least I got to be up front with the driver:)
All the 1st graders who went...

Kresee: Santa House

I got to run over and meet Kresee's class for their trip to the Santa House today...I normally walk with them but had to get back to get to Kohen's field trip this morning as well...They were just walking up when I got there...
She is so sweet and always gets so excited when she sees me....And she takes the best pictures...Always smiles for me:)
They listened to a story first and then went in another room to listen to Santa Clause...
We attempted a group picture...
She was excited to sit on Santa's lap...I think one of the few in her class who weren't scared of him..
Making cookies with Mrs. Clause
Then off to make a rocking horse ornament with lots of glitter!
She loves writing her name on everything so she did great writing it on her ornament...
The kids had a great time and I was glad I was able to join them

Thanksgiving Feasts

Both kids had their Thanksgiving feasts at school today...Kresee was so excited to wear her Turkey dress that TT gave her...She looks pretty stinking cute:)
We get to each bring finger type foods and then you fill your plates with lots of random items--chicken nuggets, cheese, crackers, vegetables, cookies, pizza, fruit, etc

Kohen's classes had their feast around 2:00 when they got back from PE...All 88 1st graders eating outside--most in shorts/shirts and it's November 20th:)...Everyone was supposed to bring an item...Their food consisted of: turkey lunch meat, grapes, apple slices, cubed cheese, carrots, chex mix and goldfish...I got to help and make all 88 of those plates....

Henderson Family Farm Field Trip

Kohen's 1st grade classes went on a field trip today...Again, I feel so lucky that I get to participate in everything he does:)...We drove an hour and it was a gorgeous day...A little windy, but not bad for the middle of November...
Here they are just getting off the buses...Kohen and Sam are such good buds
They rotated them through 4 stations...First up was the big tractor...
Everyone got to climb up in it...
Then off to feed the cows and 2 donkeys....
Kohen was so excited about something; he's jumping up and down
I loved this picture...All the cows came wanting to eat except this mama and her baby calf that was born just this morning!!
Station #3 was showing how they used to mark the cows in the old days...
We had a little down time, so lots of duck-duck-goose
Station #4 was the petting/feeding portion..They had chickens, pigs, miniature ponies, ducks, etc
Free time spent playing in an old McDonald playland...Kohen and his friends played football...And a lot of kids gathered up 100's of pecans...
Kohen got to meet this sweet little 3 legged dog
Then it was a picnic lunch....

And back to school in the bus...I rode with a friend up there but rode in the bus back and I almost got car sick..I don't do well for long periods of time in the car when I'm not up in the front seat!

Leaves

Today the kids had a great time playing in the leaves over at Maw's and Papa' house...We took a big Maroney family picture and since they were already in cute clothes (not usual Sunday play clothes) I asked if they wanted to take a few...

Kresee wasn't too sure about laying completely flat in them:)

Kohen wanted to take a picture of Kresee and I
Then Jaxson wanted to take one of the 3 of us...I don't think Kresee was ready--haha
Then Kohen really just wanted to take one of me by myself--geez!

Color Run 5K

I have been sick the past 2 weeks and my running hasn't been happening very much...I did run 3 miles on Tuesday and it wasn't easy because I couldn't breathe well...But I really wanted to sign up for the MSU Color Run last night...I'm glad I did...It was such pretty weather...Perfect for running but chilly when you got through...There were no chips for time...You just ran 3.1 miles and got sprayed with powdered paint the whole time...I did wash without treating my shirt and you can still see some of it on there...But I wore a crappy white tank knowing I wouldn't care if I threw it away...I had fun and would do it again...

Fire Station Field Trip

Kresee's class had a field trip to the Fire Station today....She just loves when I show up to walk with them...And she was very excited to visit the firemen:)

We've been lucky that the weather has been so mild since they have a few walking field trips in Oct/Nov/December

Coyotes--Fall 2012

We finished up the Fall soccer season yesterday with a win....The boys actually played like we were used to seeing them play...Passing the ball and going after it...Shooting...You know, things you are supposed to do in soccer...They won 4-0 which was awesome since we were on a 5 game losing streak...We finished 5-5 for the season...Our worst record yet, but I'll take it...Because this was a GREAT group of boys...Ones I hope that we continue to have season after season...And the parents are wonderful as well...They let Kerry and I do our own thing and they don't ever get in the way at all...
Kohen finished with 3 goals on the season...Pretty good for him since we really rely on him to play defender most of the time...He was probably our best kicker this year and we continue to be really proud of him....I hope he plays soccer for a long time because I think he has a great future in this sport:)

Ben Franklin JV Lions

Well we ended up on a disappointing note to finish off the football season...We just needed to win this game this morning to head to the Toy Bowl next Saturday...But we fell short 18-13....We didn't really show up the 1st half and let them get ahead 18-6...We played great the 2nd half but just couldn't get it into the end zone before the clock expired and we were on the 7 yd line about to score...It was the most heart-breaking thing but man they did have a great season...How can you go wrong with being the JV West Champions at 7-0...Winning one playoff game...Making it to the 2nd round and finishing the year 8-1....

It was soooooo windy we had to have someone hold the ball for kickoffs....

The poor coaches and kids were so disappointed....Kohen learned a lot this season about football though...I'm glad he tried it...The whole season he has said he won't play next year...But the last 2 weeks, he says he wants to....So I guess we will see come next year....
All I know is that we started back in the middle of August practicing 3 nights a week for 2-2 1/2 hours at a time...That got moved to twice weekly...Then practices consistently were 1 1/2-2 hrs....On top of soccer practice once weekly, Kresee's gymnastics once weekly...Then soccer and football games every Saturday, I'm one exhausted momma for doing this for 3 months straight....Yes I would have survived one more week to make it to the Toy Bowl but that's part of it...Now onto basketball---practice starts Wednesday:)
