Pledge Of Allegiance

Sunday night I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and Kohen was sitting in our room watching TV talking out loud...He always has full on conversations with himself...Mainly he's commenting some sporting event while he's playing it...But he was saying the Pledge of Allegiance and he said it perfectly:)...I had no idea the kid even knew the Pledge of Allegiance...Made me proud...

But then he has to pull one of these which makes me even prouder (haha)....I walk in our room the other day and he says "Mom, you are like a genius"...I said "Do you even know what that means?"..."No, I don't"....I said "Well it means you are really super duper smart"...He proceeds to laugh as he says "Well then you are so NOT a genius!!"...I was laughing so hysterically that Kresee thought she needed to laugh too....Something I won't soon forget...Little stinker:)

Kresee--18 mos

Kresee Leigh turned 18 mos on September 5th, but we had to wait until she went to see Dr. Yap this past Monday to blog about her stats....We have FINALLY broke the 20 lbs mark!!

Weight: 20 lbs 2 oz (5%)
Height: 32" (62%)

She is teething like CRAZY....I think she is getting 3 molars and at least 2 others that I can tell...Poor thing hasn't been sleeping great...Some nights we have to get up and give her some more tylenol to last until the morning....And her eating has slowed down...Dr. Yap says that's not a surprise b/c of all the teeth coming in....

She is talking a lot...And it's so funny...She will pretty much repeat anything back to you...She is even putting 2, 3, and 4 word phrases together...."I wanna snack Mommy"...I think I hear new words everyday...Yesterday she loved saying flamingo "mindo"

My favorite is how she says Kohen "Wo-wo"...And he hates it some days and then smiles others...She has most everyone's names down including the dogs....

She can name all the parts of the face---ears, head, nose, mouth, eyes, hair...and will point to all of them...

Her new love besides her baby doll is her Daddy!!...Man, is she obsessed with Daddy...This is new for me since Kohen was such a Mommy's boy...She isn't as bad as that thank goodness...But it makes me smile...She won't even let me put her to bed anymore..."I want Daaaaaddddyyyy!"... And her favorite book is "Llama llama red pajama"...So he reads it to her every night:)

And here is what she's been up to....

Wearing diapers over her diaper and shorts...A great look for her...And if you add in a Coyote cap, it's even prettier....
Or you can take off the cap for an OU helmet look....

She, like all babies, loves the phone...Says hello or "looo, looo" while she's talking on it...

But her favorite is my cell phone...I know exactly what she wants when she brings it to me...I have to get it to the videos and she will just sit there and watch them over and over again...She can switch them and push play...Cracks me up....

I make cinnamon rolls every Sunday morning...She loves to sit with her daddy in bed and eat them with him...But this past Sunday, I was on the computer and she sat up on the counter and enjoyed mine....

She also likes youtube like Kohen...This is her FAVORITE song...It is so silly, but I have to say that Kohen loves it too...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVkPWDixDhs
She got her some new boots which she loves...And she, of course, loves anything of Kohen's...So riding "sitting" on this is super fun...
And if we would ever get some hair that would actually do something, that would be great...She has some lovely long pieces on the sides and that's about it...It is pretty darn curly if the humidity gets to it or if we don't blow dry it...I'm ready to see what it ends up doing IF she ever gets more...
Kresee is just the sweetest thing (of course)...I still hate that she is super clingy if I'm around and won't let anyone hardly touch her....She came up to me today just to give me the biggest kiss for no reason...Melts my heart...I love you Kresee Leigh....

Sweet Dreams Marfie

We knew that poor Marfie wasn't doing well when Sunday morning he couldn't stand up...He could prop himself up pretty good, but his legs just weren't working like they should...And his little toes weren't spread apart very well so he could get good balance...He had a good day on Sunday...I held him a lot...That night we took all 5 chicks out of their little bin so we could clean it and we put them all in a bowl together...I didn't realize how much smaller little Marfie was compared to the other chicks...That's him on the far right...But he held his own...They peeked at him and he would peek right back...The problem is that they all like to snuggle so they kept knocking him over...So I took him out to give him a little break...Isn't he precious??...You can see he couldn't get his legs under him....He tweeted a lot when I took him out b/c he really wanted to be near his friends:)

And this was his little sore...Kerry looked it up...It's similar to the umbilical cord...But basically they are attached to the yolk sac and then it closes up and separates...His never separated...And these chicks rarely hatch...Like 1%...So of course, Marfie makes it out...But I'm glad he did...

We wanted him to be able to spend the night with his friends and I even tried to feed him some, but he wouldn't take it...He just couldn't handle being knocked over and we felt sorry for him...So we put him in his own little container inside the big bin with the others so that he could still hear them and be near them, but he would be left alone....When I got up yesterday morning, he was asleep...They say he shouldn't make it past 24 hrs...He made it to almost 48 hs....I cried and cried...It was a hard day...Yes, I know it was just a chicken...But if you know me, you know what a heart I have for animals...Kerry buried him in our flower bed:)...Sweet Dreams Little Marfie

OU Sooners

We told Kohen that we had an awesome surprise for him if he did well at his soccer game...So Saturday morning, we showed him that we had tickets to the OU Sooner football game...After his soccer game, we ran home, changed and hit the road to make the 2:30 kickoff in Norman...

Walking to the game...Kerry's favorite part of the whole day b/c Kohen makes it about 100 yards and then he has to sit on Daddy's shoulders....

Lizards vs Cowboys

Kohen had his 2nd soccer game on Saturday against a really, really good 2nd year team...So they got smoked...It really had to be like 15-3...I know we scored 3 and they scored a lot...Kohen did score one for them, but that's OK...He got really close once or twice but no luck...Our goal was just for him to get in there and get after it...And he did soooo much better...He didn't just run around, he went after the ball and kicked it...Even stopped them from scoring a few times...Kerry and I were very proud of the progress he made from last Saturday...Hopefully, he continues to learn and have more confidence....

And of course, he had a great group of people cheering him on...

Little Chicky update

So we had Lawnchy hatch on Thursday around 6:30 pm...That night between 2 and 4 am, Archie hatched...He is solid black and much bigger than little Lawnchy...
This is Kresee's OMG there's another chicken in there look:)
But it appeared that our other 4 eggs were not going to make it....So Kerry ran to Atwood's Friday night before the football game to get something for the chicks...And they had a brand new shipment of 1 week old Bannie Chickens, so he brought home 3 so that our 2 would have some friends...They like to be in packs of 4-6 because they are very social...
After the game (Kohen went to the fair instead), Kresee was already in bed so we let Kohen hold the 3 chicks that were already 1 week old...

Kohen and Sharkie....
Kohen and Arkie....
Kohen holding Markie...

Our five babies...Lawnchy, Archie, Sharkie, Markie, and Arkie...It's funny because our Archie is the biggest of the 5 and then our Lawnchy is the smallest of the 5....
We have not held our two that have hatched yet since they are still so new...So the other 3 have got all the loving so far....Kresee is OBSESSSED!!!...She says "titens" and just loves looking at them and when its time to leave them alone, talk about kicking and screaming...I dread letting her actually touch them (haha)
But Friday night after the fooball game Kerry realized that one of the 4 eggs in the incubator had a little crack....So at 11:15 he woke me up to this:)...Another little guy trying to make his way out of his shell...He worked hard for a long time...I actually stayed up until 12:30 watching him...But I knew I needed to get to bed since we would be up at 7 am for Kohen's soccer game in the morning...
Thank goodness I went to bed b/c Kerry woke me up at 6:20 and he looked like this...So he had worked hard but we were surprised he wasn't out yet?...They say if they don't hatch within 24 hrs of the first egg then they probably aren't strong enough to make it...But we were happy
we had a 3rd baby chick...Kohen named him Marfie...
We left to go to Kohen's soccer game and by the time we got home he was out...He could stand up and chirp at us...We think he will be brown....But we did notice something not quite right with him...He had this small ball hanging off his bottom...The other 2 did not have this...We couldn't tell since he was so new if maybe it was part of the egg attached to him...But we can't take him out of the incubator for 24 hrs and we knew we would just have to wait...I prepared Kohen letting him know that Marfie might have to go to heaven....
I worried about him all day long...We went to the OU football game...But at 10:00 last nigh, he was wide eyed and standing up...The little ball was still attached...This morning he can't stand up...He sure is trying though...It's like his little legs are paralyzed now...But since its been 24 hrs, we might take him out to have a closer look....And if he isn't going to make it, I sure hope little Marfie goes to sleep very soon...

Rhyming Bannie Chickens

This morning I woke up and went to check on the eggs....One of them had a little crack in it...You could definitely tell something was happening...We were just excited about that...But we knew it could take 24 hours for it to completely hatch...At lunch, it looked about the same...We left to go to soccer practice at 5:30 and not much had changed....Came home from practice to this!!

We think it had just happened because he looked a little wet and he wasn't moving much....But now he is in their chirping away:) and he thinks he can walk around but he is pretty clumsy...We don't really know when we are supposed to move him...They say when he's completely dry, so I guess we will in a few more hours...We think the egg next to him will hatch soon too...So we are hoping he has a friend in the morning!

This is Kohen's sweet face right after we discovered that he was officially a Daddy:) He was so proud and excited that he named him Lawnchy...And he wants all the names to rhyme so that he can call them the "Rhyming Bannie Chickens"

Legacy Gala

Kerry and I went to the Legacy Gala on Saturday night thanks to our friends, Ashley and Jesse....We really didn't know much about the event, except that it was for a great cause benefitting the Special Education Department at Cunningham Elementary...I really didn't care because A) we had tickets for free B) we got to dress up nice C) dinner and alcohol D) no kids!!!

We had a great time hanging out, eating, drinking and dancing (well Ashley and I danced)...The boys did not---Kerry was having major leg pain for some unknown reason?? And I guess Ashley is used to Jesse not dancing:) Thanks guys for inviting us!!

1st Lizard Soccer Game

The Lizards tied the Blue Transformers 12-12 in their first soccer game this past Saturday....But I tell Kohen that they tied but actually won since we scored 3 of the other team's goals!! It was fun and hard to watch at the same time:)

On the way to the game we listened to Kohen's favorite---The Black Eyed Peas to get him pumped up....
Before the game got started....Practicing some shooting....
Our sweet little neighbor Mitchell....
Mitchell, Grant and Anirud waiting their turn...

Kohen's huge cheering crowd---Mommy, Daddy, Kresee, my mom and Mike, my sister, my nana, my cousin, my aunt, my dad and Sallye, Kerry's mom and dad, Kerry's grandpa

Kohen, Landry and Chaithan just got finished with their turn playing....

Waiting for the 2nd half to start...
Grammie telling Kohen what a great job he did....

Family picture after the game was over....

Getting out of the car at home....He wanted to immediately go in the back yard and practice, so we did
