We headed down Friday to the lake...Ellie didn't eat breakfast that morning (no hamburger meat/rice) and she sure didn't act herself much that day...She is a pretty laid back dog, but you could tell she was extra lethargic...She even started coughing/hacking on the drive down...We arrived and played awhile...Had dinner...She still wouldn't eat anything and wouldn't drink any water either...So I started getting really worried about her..I called my sister and she didn't help by saying all these things that could potentially be wrong:(...I knew that there was no way I could wait until Monday to take her to the vet...If she did indeed having kennel cough or something like that, she needed some medicine...I did not sleep well at all Friday night...I was just worried sick...I woke up at 6:45...I let her go potty and she did drink a little water, but still refused any food...Even table scraps or cheese...We loaded up, just her and I, and drove the 1 hr 45 mins to Dr. Tammen's vet clinic...She looked like this the whole trip there...
She checked out great physically...And she had lost a whole pound from not eating much this past week at all...She thinks she has an upper respiratory infection/cold...Gave her some meds and coughing tablets...We ran back home so I could get some chicken...I hadn't tried boiled chicken yet...This dog doesn't take medicine...My sister suggested hot dogs and she scarfed those pills down when I put them in the hot dog...We then drove back to the lake and were there by lunch...She basically did nothing all weekend...She did eat a little boiled chicken...
