4th of July

Since the 4th of July landed on a Thursday this year, we stayed so we could go out to Nana and Papa's for the fireworks...This is one of all of our favorite family holidays and we knew we all wanted to be there and have a great time in memory of Papa...He loved the 4th and having all his family and friends out at their house....We were lazy most of the day today and went out there around 3:30 in the afternoon and didn't get home till 10pm...We were worn out but had a great time.

Here are the kids in an attempted picture before we left...

Cayden looking cute...Kresee had the same shirt:)

 A family picture---the only one I got...
Kresee and Kerry rode on the golf cart a lot...Papa bought this just for my kiddos since we had a blast driving one around when we were young!

We had a great time playing volleyball...We played many games

Both kids had fun riding in their little cars that we have passed down to Cayden...
There was also horseshoes, bocce ball and croquet....We had our usual hamburgers and hot dogs...Afterwards, we rode on the golf cart down the street to Russell's Fireworks to get the kids stocked up...
Set off a few fireworks that didn't need to be dark outside to light them

Kresee and Cayden were brave doing their sparklers

When it got dark, Kohen still did really well lighting all his own stuff and even helped with some of the really big ones like this...
Kerry is a bum and didn't light one single firework...He did enjoy snuggling with Lady before she got too terrified of all the noise and had to go back inside the house...
We all enjoyed homemade ice cream and watching everyone's fireworks...
Oh Kerry did a sparkler---I forgot:)
After a while, Kresee even got brave enough and started lighting some all by herself...I was shocked and proud that she was being so brave...She did great...
I think we all did well considering...It was super difficult knowing Papa wasn't there...It was hard being down at his shop eating dinner in it like we do and not seeing him sitting in his chair...His truck parked there, his dumptruck just sitting there too...But I have a feeling he was smiling down on us watching us have a great time...Especially seeing those great-grand kids having a blast...
