Western Day

Today was Western Day for the KG students....They had field day yesterday and this fun even today....So glad I got to participate and help out all morning...We borrowed a shirt and boots from Jude...And we searched upstairs for his $5 cowboy hat I bought him a Wal-Mart years ago...It was covered in dog hair, but he didn't care....It was pretty windy outside which I was thankful for because it was very warm...The wind kept us semi-cool....
They had several different stations...I was running one of them so I didn't get to take pictures of everything, but I got most of them...Here they are racing and spelling out the word Bluebonnet...They were in groups of 4 or 5 and then would rotate when Mrs. Evans rang the bell....
Carrying eggs blindfolded and the kids had to tell them which direction to go...There were cracked eggs all over the place!
They got their face painted...Kohen got a cactus on his cheek....
They had music time where they sang BINGO and did the hokey pokey
Then they got to play with the parachute....They loved this

 Kohen and Sam
 Kohen and Bella
They got to rope a "bull"
Kohen did really well and got it around the head:)
Kohen and his group--Chloe, Loren, Kohen and Olivia
My station was them transferring a pretzel onto each other's straw...They really just wanted to sit and eat pretzels:)
Riding horses...I was wondering if he would actually do this station since he is still fearful of animals...But it was the very last one for him to go to...He was ready to get on and actually rode both horses...Very proud of him

I had to have Kerry snap a picture of me and my little guy after their picnic outside...I was super glad to be back in the air-conditioned classroom!!...It was a really fun morning!!

Big Girl Earrings

This past Saturday Maw came and got Kohen and took him to the movies...Well as expected Kresee wasn't very happy about not getting to go...She cried for a bit but Daddy promised her that we would go and do whatever she wanted...Since it was Saturday, Jump for Joy was closed...We really refuse to go to Chuck E Cheese...I suggested the random bounce house place in the mall??..So we headed there...It was so crowded on that end that we had to go down a ways to another entrance...When we walked in we were right there at Claire's...So I suggested she get her ears pierced..Kresee has been asking for over 6 months for them (maybe longer) and we've been putting her off...Kerry hasn't been to keen on the idea...She was super pumped about it...So I went and asked if there were 2 people so we could get both ears done at the same time...We lucked out and after signing my life away, she was ready to sit down....She grabbed Daddy's hand to hold on tight....
I could tell she was a nervous wreck...I knew it was taking every bit of her courage to sit there, but she wanted them so badly....I took a video of the actual ear piecing....I thought she might wig out when they got on either side of her but she didn't...She didn't cry loud, mainly just tears...

Awww, poor thing...
But she got a sucker and was over it pretty quickly...I was so proud of her....
So we took her down the way to Bears Etc for a prize...Out of the stuffed animals she of course picked a puppy dog...
She got to put her heart in the puppy....
Then she got to step on the button to fill her puppy up
Once she was all filled with stuffing, she picked her out an outfit and we named her Sparkles since her new earrings were sparkly....
Then we headed home from the mall...
Much happier in the car and very proud of herself....She has loved showing everyone her earrings...

Mother's Day

This has to be one of the favorite days each year if you are a mother...Getting to celebrate the life you made and being appreciated for everything you do as a mom/wife....Being a mom is crazy hard work...I really, really suck at it most days....I feel like a failure or feel like I failed at something most every single day...But you just keep going and keep trying to do your best....These 2 things make it worthwhile though (even when they--mainly Kohen--drive me bonkers...haha)

I make cinnamon rolls every single Sunday....Been doing this for quite some time...It's the kids and Kerry's favorite morning of the week...However, I don't eat cinnamon rolls...So I usually just make the coffee and may or may not eat breakfast...But this Mother's Day was great b/c that meant I didn't have to make the cinnamon rolls I was not going to eat nor did I make the coffee....I did get up and fix myself some eggs:)

Kohen wanted a lovely picture of me just waking up...Then he wanted to take one of me and Kresee together....

We ate breakfast, got up and ready for church....OneLife had a professional photographer there taking Mommy and Kid pictures..So I was excited to have my picture taken with them knowing I probably wouldn't get a photograph of us otherwise...

After church we went to Kerry's parents house...They ate some sandwiches...Then we played outside a little bit...Then went to Luby's with Kerry's grandparents...We just watched them eat since it was like 2:30 pm:)...
After that, I took Kerry and Kohen back to the Maroney's....But me and my sweet girl went home b/c she was really needing a little nap...I love laying beside her...She feel asleep snuggled up against me and on my hand!..So I didn't move for like 1.5 hours...Worth it though....
We headed out to my grandparents about 5:00....They live off of Highway 79 and there was this little turtle trying to cross the road...Kerry is a big ole animal lover as well and told me I should turn around so he could at least get it to the side of the road....So we did that and just decided to take him with us...We played with him...The kids thought he was great...And he was a fast little thing!!!
We put him in a box and my sister took him home to her pond since some ducks and another turtle live out there
**our turtle and her turtle are very good friends and hang out together...so I'm glad we re-homed him:)
And I still haven't posted any of these pictures that DeEdra took of our family...I need to do that...But how special is this 4 generation picture...Love looking at this one on Mother's Day!!
I feel very blessed to have a great Nana....And I can't even begin to say thank you enough to my mom...What an amazing one she is....Love you both!!!
