Playing around....

Well Kresee was too, but it was mainly me playing around with my camera....Took a class a couple of weeks ago....I had taken one awhile back that introduced me to things I knew nothing about: ISO, Aperature, Shutter Speed, etc.....And so I went to another one to add to what I knew already (which was very very little!!)....I've decided I'm not so camera smart....But the weather hasn't been great (i.e. not very sunny) but I managed to get some decent lighting with Kresee...Let her crawl around the back porch and get her hands and clothes dirty....But I did actually not shoot on automatic....Used my "M" setting and messed with all three of the things I listed previously and the lighting meter as well.....And now I've decided since I don't have one thing as far as photo editing, I need something to make my pictures a little better....I will work on that:)

Her favorite face to make....While she's playing....When she doesn't want medicine or food put in her mouth...When her nose is runny...Basically all the time:)

Father's Night

Kohen had Father's night last night at his preschool....He was super excited to take Kerry along to let him play in his classroom...Mrs. Maxwell had different centers set up for them to do together...The theme has been dinosaurs this month, so the sensory table was full of sand and dinosaurs....They got to paint pictures and also construct something out of different materials...But they are still drying from all the glue used....The kids even got to take the dads to music class for a little bit to show them how that works...And then they came back for cookies and brownies.....All the daddy's got a calendar from the kids and a poster that was all about daddy---

• Last weekend he was playing Bingo and baseball. He was playing with me and I didn't ever win because I was trying and trying and trying

4 Wheeler

I have parked all of Kohen's vehicles in our garage for some time now: his blue car, the tractor, a red car and his 4 wheeler....So Kresee has yet to see these in action....Kohen begged for one tonight and so I decided the little 4 wheeler wouldn't be too bad....She was eating dinner when she saw Kohen get on it for the first time and her little face just lit up...She couldn't wait to get her little hands on it...And did she....I sat her on there and she found that little red button immediately....It was so funny watching her...She tried to use her index finger and realized she wasn't strong enough....Then she used her thumb but didn't have it positioned quite right and on the 3rd attempt she was off and she loved it:).....

Can you tell how red her right cheek is....Kohen got to go to the globetrotter game with Grammie last night and he got a basketball...Well right before this he was playing in the entry way and it smacked her right in the face!

And I looked back to see if I could find some of Kohen when he first rode on it....He got this for his first birthday

Bike Riding

Kohen got his big boy bike from Santa....But since the weather wasn't the greatest around Christmas and the past few weeks, he has yet to ride it outside...So the other day when I took Kresee outside to take her bday invite pictures, I told him to go and get his bike....He was super excited but then turned grumpy and didn't want any help from Kerry....He ended up doing great until I pushed him to get some momentum and he rounded our driveway going too fast and crashed...But I made him get up and finish riding....He still doesn't understand why there are training wheels on there....

And then Kerry thought he needed to ride on it as well:)

1st Birthday Snapshots

I looked back through some pictures I had taken of Kohen to use for his first bday invitations....I took these about 6 weeks before he turned 1, which is about the same time I took hers....It's funny b/c they are on Kresee's birthday:)...And I love that he had already been standing up and walking...Kresee refuses to stand up much less walk...Kohen was fairly early at all that!!

This is the picture I used on his birthday invitation....He also had to get a haircut 4 days before he turned 10 mos old...Something Kresee probably won't need for awhile....

Birthday Invitations

Ordered her bday invitations yesterday and got the proof today....Yes, her birthday is still like 6 weeks away but now it's done and I don't have to think about them...Turned out cute!!

Red River Ski Trip

We went to Red River this past weekend to take Kohen on his first ski trip.....We left Thursday afternoon around 2:45 and drove 8 hrs 45 mins....He did great....I told Mimi to not let him take an afternoon nap in hopes of him napping in the car...Well he must have been too excited because he was awake from 2:45 until 8:00 (his bedtime)....We only stopped once in Amarillo to eat dinner and then we made it there right at midnight....

My sister and her husband got there a couple of hours before us....And my dad and his girlfriend, Sallye....And then Sallye's daughter and her boyfriend got there earlier that evening.....So once we all made it, we hit the sack....

We woke up early Friday morning a yummy breakfast....My dad cooked every meal for all of us the whole weekend....We headed on over to the Ski House which was super close...But we drove the whole minute over there....We got our ski's and boots rented....And then Kohen, Kerry and I hit the bunny slope....We let him ski between us and ride that lift a few times to get the hang of it....We then had to try and side step a little ways up a hill to get to the bigger practice slope and he just wasn't having any of it...Had a huge meltdown and we just let him sit on his knees in the snow and cry for a few minutes....Then we moved over to a picnic table and he hung out for a good 30 minutes....So I went by myself down the practice slope and he watched....Then Kerry went and he watched.....Then he decided he wanted to join in the fun and "was just taking a break"....Kerry and I were very glad b/c we thought this was going to be a looooong 2 days....

He did awesome and stuck with it almost the entire first day...We would ski in the mornings, head back to eat lunch, and then go back out for the afternoon....The lifts closed at 4:00 and he made it until 2:30 on Friday....He stayed with my Dad's girlfriend while Kerry and I hit the slopes by ourselves.....The weather couldn't have been more gorgeous...It was actually pretty darn warm and we would shed layers at lunchtime....I think most men out there probably had a short sleeve t-shirt underneath their ski jacket.....I didn't have my camera of course but took lots of pictures on my cell phone....

Here we are at the top of the mountain.....We stopped for a gatorade and frappe break....And a potty break...We even had to take all our coats, gloves, hats off because it was so warm up there.....

Day 2 he lasted until lunchtime and decided he wanted to hang out and play...So Kerry and I had a lot of fun skiing the entire afternoon without him....Kerry enjoyed not having to squat down the entire way down the slopes with Kohen.....Kerry and Kohen would ski down both blue and green slopes no problem like this:).....

On Saturday late afternoon once the ski lifts closed, you could purchase a ticket and ride a tube down the bunny slope....Kohen was super excited about this and had the BEST time....I even rode down twice with him and it was a lot of fun:) .....

We got up early (4:30 NM time) and headed out so that we could get home in the afternoon on Sunday...We made 3 stops and arrived in WF at 2:15....So that was nice...We were able to completely unpack, play with Kresee, eat dinner and get to bed at a decent time...And thankfully I was off work today....I've done all the laundry and the house is back in order.....

We honestly had the best time and I think Kohen was at a perfect age for his first time skiing....We can't wait to go back...I would like to try and make this an every year trip if possible....
