Kresee's Check-up

Kresee had her 6 month check-up on Friday.....

Weight: 17 lbs 2 oz (75%)
Height: 27 inches (90%)

She got 3 fun shots which she hated and one has left a red spot on her little thigh for the past 2 days....She hasn't ever had any kind of reaction though and they don't seem to bother her....Dr. Yap said she looks good...He didn't have any suggestions for trying to get her to eat baby food...But since the doctor, she has done better and has actually even opened her mouth a few times....We've tried squash and applesauce this past weekend.....And she didn't really mind either....

OU Frame

I had my friend Katy make me another frame....Our study is full of cute OU pictures of Kohen and so I needed to add some of Kresee....I can't wait to put her little sweet face in this one:)

Sage and the Caterpillar

We went outside this evening to sit on our back porch....It was a pretty evening and we wanted to eat our Maggie Moo's out there.....And the story goes something like this:

Me: Kohen, watch out you almost stepped on that caterpillar

Kohen: Oh, I'm sorry Mommy I didn't see him

Me: It's fine, you didn't hurt him but just be careful not to smush him

(Kerry now comes outside with Kresee and sits down to start eating his ice cream)

Me: Hey Kohen, do you remember what caterpillars turn into?

Kohen: Butterflies

Me: Yep, you're right

Kohen: How do they turn into caterpillars Mommy?

(Sage walks over to the caterpillar and starts eating it...It's behind the cooler so Kohen can't see it happening)

Me: Well, sweetie they build a cocoon (I'm laughing now A LOT) and it's kind of like a shell

(Kerry is now laughing A LOT too and I'm still trying to explain how they turn into butterflies while laughing, so Kohen gets down and comes around the cooler)

Me: And when they break out of the cocoon they are a butterfly

(Sage is chomping away on the poor caterpillar)(Kerry and I are dying laughing by now)

Kohen: HEEEEEY, Sage is eating the caterpillar!!! Sage is eating him!!!

Me: Bad Sage, you are NOT supposed to eat caterpillars....I'm sorry sweetie:)

I think I laughed the whole time typing this stupid post....It was one of those moments that I won't soon forget....

And then I had to post some of Miss Kresee....She made me a little angry....She won't eat a lick of food, but she sure does open wide for a bite of ice cream (no we didn't give her any, but she would have if we let her!!!!)

Guess Who.....

Guess who is finally potty-trained (I think)!! We were at the lake this weekend for Labor Day....Yesterday Kohen supposedly peed out on the rocks which we've tried to get him to do ALL summer long....The problem was that only Jaxson and Kohen were around when this peeing incident happened....So we made a big deal out of it anyways, but not really believing them...There was definitely something wet in the rocks but I just didn't really think it was Kohen....But we got home and we were unloading the car and he said "I need to go to the bathroom"....He ran to our room and did both!!!....Kerry and I were so excited and proud...We took him to Toys R Us and he got a prize....And he did it several more times before going to bed last night...He stayed dry all night long and used the bathroom all day at Mimi's today as well....We really, really hope it continues....I know everyone said he will do it when he is ready...I guess that is true...I really don't know what did the trick...I think maybe starting school last week....He held it all day long on Wednesday and Friday...So I bet he wanted to be like the rest of the kids...I really don't care what did it....I'm just super proud and am so glad:)

Here are some pictures of our "BIG BOY"....He is not understanding why we are not wanting to play baseball with the golf ball since he was standing 3 ft from us and hitting it in our direction..

6 Months

We were at the lake this weekend when Kresee officially turned 6 months old....So I had to wait until tonight to take her picture in Kohen's chair....She was way more interested in the piece of paper than getting her picture made....So I didn't try too hard....She is just so big looking....I had to look back again at her 4 week picture and compare....6 months flew by and I know she will be a year old before we know it.....

She has done so well at Mimi's house (the babysitter) since I've started back to work....She is wearing size 2-3 diapers...We go for her 6 month checkup on Friday and I bet you she is like 17 lbs...She feels like a load now a days...She still only prefers milk....She has yet to want any food...She is great at sticking her tongue out as a "stopper" so I can't put any food in her mouth...But I still try....She is now in her own room in her own bed....She has been in there for about a week and a half now...We didn't move Kohen into to his room until he was 8 months old and he did great...I think we might have waited too long with her though.....She is doing fine, but still waking up around 4:30 or 5:00 and wants to eat...But she does go right back to sleep until I wake her up in the morning to take her to Mimi's house....She is talking more and more.....She babbles dadada, dididi, byebyebye....She absolutely loves to take her nightly showers with Daddy....She loves riding on the riding lawn mower....She flips and flops from her belly to back and vice versa...But hasn't realized she could go places by rolling....She tries so hard to get up on her knees....She continues to be a short napper....Maybe one short morning nap and 2 afternoon naps....They are 30 mins-1 hour but that's about it...She loves her big brother and thinks he is the great thing ever.....

I guess I could go on and on...She has just been the best addition to our family...Kerry and I are so blessed to have some great kiddos;)

First Day of Preschool

Kohen had his very first day of preschool yesterday.....He was so excited and ready that he wouldn't even eat breakfast.....He couldn't wait to get there and put on his new backpack (that might be bigger than he is----but it will last him several years!!!).....He walked in and was knocking at the door for them to let him in the room while Kerry and I signed him in....He couldn't wait to get to the dry erase board so he could draw....He got to go to a 45 minute orientation on Monday and so he already had found something he liked to do....

In the car....We had just dropped off Kresee at Mimi's house and he asked if Kresee was going to miss him:)....
He got mad at me for snapping this picture because his backpack was NOT on yet.....

Kohen already knows one kid in his class, Reid......

When I came to pick him up he had all sorts of stuff to tell me....It was a fun car ride home listening to him....He can't wait to go back tomorrow and has asked numerous times if its Friday yet....

First Time

Kresee had just woken up from her nap and so we went outside the other day to let her sit in the grass for the first time....She really enjoyed messing with it.....She was still pretty sleepy though so I love her little tired face in these pictures:)
