SLP Fall Festival
Last Tuesday Kresee got to go to her first School for Little People Fall Festival....We've done this the past 2 years but with Kohen...I left her at school that afternoon since we had Kohen's parent-teacher conference...They got her all dressed and then they were the 1st class to walk out the door...I kept trying to tell her what to expect but I know she had no idea what was going on:)
There was another little girl in her class with the same sweet costume....

Still running:)
I haven't really blogged much about my running since the half-marathon back in March...I've only done one other race that I signed up for and that was in May....
Kerry and I did sign up for Race for the Cure on October 8th, but it didn't happen...I got very sick the weekend before the race...Was still sick that Wednesday before and went to the doctor...Got a steroid shot and some antibiotics...But come Friday evening, I knew I still did not feel well nor have the energy to go and run...I was disappointed b/c that would have been the 1 year mark of my very 1st organized 5K run...I can say doing that a year ago made me really get into signing up for various things....I didn't get to run for 10 days straight and am glad to be better and back in the swing of things!
So next up is the Harvest Hustle and City of Lights in November and I hope I get to run one or both of those:)
Kerry and I have contined to run just to run...I did mainly a lot of Zumba and boot camp classes over the summer and ran here and there....But September we thought we might start adding in some longer runs on the weekend to train for White Rock Half-Marathon on December 4th...But he hurt his knee about a month ago and has not been able to run at all...He can walk fine, do the elliptical at the gym...But 1 mile into his run, he has severe painin his knee...He tried again today with no luck...So I don't know what's in store for him....He probably needs to go to the doctor but you know how that goes....
I'm just still running like I'm going to do White Rock...I haven't signed up...But still plan on putting in the miles in case it works out....I've not run more than 6.2 miles since the half-marathon and have just kept my long runs on the weekend at 6 miles up until last weekend....So last Sunday my friend Ashley Thomas and I headed to the Sikes Lake to run that 1.1 mile loop...Our goal was 7 miles---something she has never done before!!...She did great and made it...And I was happy to hit 7 miles as well:)
Today I went again --without her though:(--My goal was 8 miles and doing that by yourself can get boring...I started at 8:15 and the weather was right at 60 degrees and it was even kind of misty most of the time...There was a breeze but not too bad and it was one that felt good when you were going head on into it....But it was a perfect morning to run and I just enjoyed my music and the surroundings....And I did way better than I thought I was going to do...My goal was to keep it right at 10:30 mins/mile, but I ended up at 10:16 mins/mile!

Pumpkin Patch
Last Tuesday, Grammie and I took the kiddos out to the Painted Pony Rides for the pumpkin patch....It was super windy and pretty chilly...So we didn't stay very long...Our goal was to buy 2 big pumpkins and let the kids ride the ponies....Oh and get a cute picture....One of those happened....
I bet you can guess that I didn't get a cute picture:)....Kohen was in a mood--not a bad mood...A bad attitude 5 year old mood....So this picture sums it all up!!...haha....
Then he started doing this...And wouldn't just sit back for a decent smile...again, oh well!
But I did get a cute one by himself....
And a cute one of her....
Or this classic Kohen face in most all of the pics, but Kresee looks cute and is smiling:)

Playing in the sand pile...I kept saying we aren't here to play in sand!!...Kohen had some comment back to me, but I can't remember...Something along the lines of kids like to play in the sand and have fun....

Attempted another picture of the two of them...I either got squinty goofy Kohen face and obviously Kresee not paying attention...
He's Trying
We took Kohen outside last Saturday to ride his bicycle...We had family pictures that morning and he saw his friend Mitchell riding without training wheels....We got home and Kohen was determined to give it a whirl...We started by taking one training wheel off and he did pretty well...But I said to ride a bike you need both of them off...So he wanted to do that...
Kresee and I just hung back and watched....

1st Trip to the Dentist
Kresee made her first trip to the dentist on Monday...Kohen and I both had teeth cleaning appointments and they wanted me to bring her along to see if she would let them do anything...Kohen and I went straight up there when he got out of school....I went first thinking I would be done before my mom picked Kresee up for school...I wanted Kresee to see Kohen getting his teeth cleaned...She kept saying "nope" when I would ask if Shana or Alisa could count her teeth...I honestly didn't think she would sit in the chair much less let them take a peek....But she did wonderful.....
I had to sit in the chair with her.....Our sweet hygienist, Shana, is wonderful:)
Kresee is obsessed with her new puppy...He whines and whimpers and barks....So Shana won her heart by holding and playing with her puppy first....Shana even looked at puppy's teeth to make sure his looked good....
Then she actually opened her mouth for her...I was in complete shock!!
She counted 16 teeth...Her 2nd year molars aren't in yet...I looked back and Kohen's weren't either at his 1st dentist appointment....

Then the dentist (Alisa!) came in and Kresee does know her....So she let Alisa not only look at her teeth, but even clean some tartar behind one of her bottom teeth....
She did so good and I was very proud of her.....She was so interested in the whole thing the rest of the evening...Kept talking about it and wanting to look at my clean teeth:)
I think when we go back in May that she may just let them do her first full cleaning...She will be 3 then and that should be perfect:)
I had to sit in the chair with her.....Our sweet hygienist, Shana, is wonderful:)
So I had to look back at Kohen's 1st dentist visit....He was exactly 2 yrs 7 mos as well:)....But as you can see, he clearly didn't need me to sit in that chair with him....He's always been the best little patient...I could just squeeze those chubby cheeks!!

Jaxson's 7th
Sunday the 2nd, we celebrated Jaxson's 7th bday at Gymnastics Sports Center....I was still not feeling great at all and I blame that when I went to Target and bought him a Happy 6th Birthday card...Seriously, I was not well...
I laid around on the mats most of the time and didn't really take any pictures:(

Getting ready for cake
Sunday was a little boy in Kohen's class birthday---but we didn't go b/c we went out to my Nana and Papa's to see relatives we haven't seen in a few years...
