Halloween Night

We had a great Halloween....I mean how could you not enjoy the gorgeous day which made for a great evening of Trick-or-Treating....We went to Kerry's sister's house for a party...There was lots of food and football....Then all the kids took turns smacking a pinata....Then off door to door to gather up some candy....Kresee and I didn't make it too far and she was done with it all...She really wanted to go home and go to bed...But she was about 30 minutes past her normal 8:00 bedtime by the time we got home...So she is already sleeping soundly...Kohen is still up...I can hear him playing football while Daddy is watching the OU game....He has re-wound it on the DVR so we hope OU ended up with a win??...I'm definitely worn out and hoping the extra hour works out for us in the morning!!...Here is a recap of the day starting from this morning.....

So Lucky.....

I have to take time to stop and realize on a daily basis how lucky I am....I get so busy with work and life that I forget how much I have been blessed....Kohen and I talked about last night while laying in bed that God chose me to be his mommy and how thankful I am to Him for that....

You both truly make me so happy and I love your sweet faces to pieces......

Field Trip

Kohen went on his first field trip today at school...He didn't know what a field trip was and was very excited about it....They went with 3 other classes to the Senior Zone to do some "pumpkin caroling"....It was super precious....He stood up there and sang all the songs and did all the hand motions to it....My nana goes there probably every day so I know she got a kick out of showing everyone her great-grandson.....It was a few blocks away so all the little 3 yr old legs were pretty tired when they got back to their class...He was pretty upset that I was leaving to go back to work and he had to stay behind....But they had lots of Halloween goodies and there was a birthday in his class today...So I'm sure they had plenty of sugar before lunch:)....I enjoyed going b/c I finally got to put some names with faces...He talks about all his friends and I have no idea who they are...I think I have most of them down....Especially the girls b/c there are only 2 little girls with 10 boys!!....He is just loving school and we love that:)

Here We Go....

It's official....Kresee is crawling...It's been a very busy week for her....She has started clapping, bouncing and dancing, growling, rocking on those hands and knees, army crawling, crawling backwards and finally crawling!!

Her babysitter told me yesterday when I picked her up that she was crawling...But I didn't see it for my own eyes...She did a tiny bit last night...But tonight we got home from eating dinner and I sat down in front of her, she plopped on those hands and knees and crawled (really slowly) to me!!!....Super sweet and then we tried to get her on video and she wasn't interested then...

Kohen has nooooo idea how much he is going to dislike his sister in the coming days...I've been trying to warn him but he hasn't a clue.....

Songs

I added a playlist to my blog....Honestly I never even have my speakers turned on so I never hear anyone's music when I am browsing blogs....But I thought I would start doing that and add my own....I have only done a few songs:

Godspeed---Dixie Chicks---I remember hearing this song when I was going to school at OU...I knew if I ever had a little boy that I would sing this to him....This is song that I did sing to Kohen every night for a long time when he was a baby...I still sing it to him sometimes but its not every night....

My Wish---Rascal Flatts---I loved this song when it first came out...Another one that made me love my sweet boy even more when I listened to it...I would play it on the computer in the study and I would hold him as we danced to it:)

Lullaby---Dixie Chicks---Thought this was a beautiful song---Kresee needed to have a song to remind me of her....

A Woman's Work---Kate Bush---loved the movie "She's Having a Baby"---always loved this song

Somewhere over the Rainbow---loved this version of the song----heard it several years ago and I always enjoyed it.....

Kohen the Carver

Well not really....I guess he technically was the supervisor...He has been so excited to carve his pumpkin....Grammie promised him that they would do it before Halloween....So she carved his pumpkin yesterday and I bet she is sore today!!...Kohen, a few weeks ago, picked the biggest, tallest pumpkin he could find....So it was definitely thick and not the easiest thing to cut...He couldn't wait to get all the "junk" out of it...But that only lasted a few minutes and then my mom was left to clean it all out....He did get a butter knife to "help" out with the carving though and he thought that was pretty cool....He wanted a really mean face...So I did my best to draw something on there for my mom to go off of....Turned out cute and he was happy about it:)

Now his favorite question is...."Mommy, when is it going to be all rotten?"

He got to turn on the light in the pumpkin when it got dark...But with the flash, it still looks daylight outside and of course you can't see the pumpkin lit up...He doesn't know that though:)

12 Years

12 years ago today this little stinkpot was born....Yes, she literally is a stinkpot....This dog (in her old age) has aquired the most nose-burning gas possible and sadly, it's never-ending....But anyways, Kerry and I got her our senior year of high school....She was born in Graham and made her way to a lovely pet store here in town...Kerry just wanted to go and look....It was about 2 days after Christmas in 1997 and there she was sitting in a sad, little cage with mange on her head....She was somewhere around $350....Can you believe that??...Yes, back then we obviously contributed to a breeder.....Knowing what I know now, I would never purchase a dog from a pet store much less a breeder....Rescue dogs are the only ones for us:)

I can't say she's sweet or loving...Kerry would say those things....She's his dog....If you know Sage, then you know what I mean....She has a sweet side, but she can be a fiesty little one....We were scared to death of what would happen when Kohen entered our family....But I can honestly say she's been great....She knew from the get go just to stay away from the baby and we've never ever had a problem with her and the kids....I don't really worry about her anymore....She is a very loyal dog....The only one who wouldn't run away if we left the gate or front door wide open...She wouldn't dare leave our front yard....She loves to eat and shakes when she knows you are fixing her dinner....She loves to snuggle with Kerry at night....She loves for you to nibble on her cheek....Hunter does this to her but she really likes it when her Daddy does it....When Kerry is around she follows him everywhere....When he's not around she doesn't leave my side...She is at my feet farting as I type.....
Happy 12th Birthday Sage (nibbles, nage, duman, nakey and all the other names Kerry has for her)!!
BUT I have to point out that this wasn't a happy day for me....Yes, I'm glad Sage is still with us after 12 years....But we only got to have Biskit a few more weeks after her 12th birthday....This sweet face has been gone for exactly 3 months today....This is my all time favorite picture of her...I have it framed and it's hanging in our hallway by our bedroom door....So I get to look at her everytime I leave or go into my room....I thought it would actually be easier by now, but honestly its just not....I don't think I've ever missed anything like I miss her....

G.I. Jane

Saw this on the babycenter email that they sent me this week....Kresee is definitely G.I. Jane for the time-being and sometimes Roll over Beethoven....She did do one little sequence correctly yesterday but usually just gives out and lays on her stomach or rolls to get anywhere......

Lifestyles of the Almost Crawling
• G.I. Jane: Baby slides silently on stomach, pushing off with only her tippy toes.
• Kickstand: Baby gets up on hands and one knee, but second leg sticks out to the side and appears to be cemented into the floor.
• Drag racing: Baby achieves successful forward motion, but drags one foot behind her like it's a weight tied to her body with a leg.
• A little backward: Baby sees a desired object, only to experience frustration when crawling moves her farther away from it.
• The crab: Baby moves sideways in a "scuttling" motion.
• Roll over Beethoven: Not so much crawling as a kind of blowing-tumbleweed movement from one spot to another. But hey — whatever works.

Halloween Cookies

Kohen's TT made sugar cookie dough from scratch so that Kohen could come over yesterday and make some Halloween cookies....I remember doing these when I was a little girl and the best part was eating the leftover cookie dough...Man, I forgot how good it was because I haven't had it in years....He did great and really enjoyed using the cookie cutters...I don't have any pictures of him decorating them because I was helping him put on the icing and he did all the sprinkles:)

Thanks TT!!

Clapping Kresee

Kresee has been trying to clap for awhile now but she just hasn't been coordinated enough to do it until yesterday...She stayed with Maw for the day and they played a lot of Patty Cake and she was clapping by lunchtime when I went to see her....So she has continued to clap and loves it and thinks it's just great.....

Oh and she was up on those hands and knees tonight and crawled backwards a little bit....So she is super close to crawling the right way:)

Preschool Parade

Kohen's preschool had their Fall Festival and Parade last night....All the kids got to dress up in their Halloween Costumes and they walked in a little parade....It was precious and they all loved it...Then we headed over to the park to have a picnic....It was a perfect day outside...Thank goodness the rain came today and not yesterday....

Kresee waiting for the parade to start....She enjoyed all the people.....

The mommies and their cameras.....

The daddies and their HandyCams......

Jack the duck...He just kicked and swung his legs the whole time....It was too funny....And then next to Jack is another Cohen:)

Kohen the Pirate....

Sit Up

This little cutie was laying on her belly thinking she might get up and go somewhere.....Instead she just pushed herself right back up to sitting....She looked so surprised at how in the world she got back up...It was pretty funny...I remember Kohen started doing that and not long after he was off and crawling....He was crawling already at this age, but she can sit and get into crawl position .....

Wildcats Hockey

We took Kohen to the Wildcats Hockey game last night....None of us had ever been and the special guests were the WFHS Coyotes....And since we kind of know the head coach:) we got some tickets to go....Kohen was super excited and really really enjoyed himself....I would have to say, though, that his favorite part was the Wildcat Mascot....He was very interested in knowing where the Mascot was at all times....It was pretty chilly in there....Colder than I expected....We all wore jeans and brought jackets...Next time I will be wearing a coat!!

Kohen took this picture....He was trying for the game but ended up taking one of the stands....
So I took one for him because he looooooves to look at pictures on the computer....He was pretty upset I didn't get one of the Mascot.....
